How do I connect to the network in Mac OS X?

Manually Remap the Drives (Mac)

  • From the Desktop click Go from the toolbar at the top of the screen.

  • Then click connect to server.

  • A window will pop up. In the "Server Address" field enter smb://publicshare.juniata.edu/pdrive.

  • Then click the connect button. If the P drive connects successfully then you will see an icon on

the dektop that says Pdrive.

  • Repeat steps 1 through 4. This time is the "Server Address" field enter smb://webshare.juniata.edu/webusername.

  • Then click connect. If the W drive mapped successfully then you will see an icon on the desktop that says webusername.

  • Repeat steps 1 through 4. This time is the "Server Address" field enter smb://jcshare.juniata.edu/username.

  • Then click connect. If the W drive mapped successfully then you will see an icon on the desktop that says username.


  • Do a jig. You’re done! Unless you don’t want to type “.juniata.edu” while wired…


Connecting To Your Drives While Wired Without Typing ".juniata.edu"

  • Go to the Apple icon in the left hand corner and click “System Preferences”

  • Click on “Network”

  • Click “Configure…”

  • Type juniata.edu in “Search Domains”

  • Click “Apply Now”
