Install Sophos Antivirus

Campus Technology Services (CTS) provides free antivirus software to all Juniata College students. The program that CTS provides free of charge is Sophos antivirus. In order to install Sophos antivirus, please follow the instructions below.

1. Ensure that your computer does not have any other antivirus programs installed. Any other antivirus program will have to be uninstalled prior to installing Sophos.
2. Open a web browser and go to http://www.juniata.edu/services/cts/security/antivirus.html.
3. Read and agree to the terms and conditions
   
4. If you did not recieve the Sophos username and password, please contact the Help Desk at ext 3619 or help@juniata.edu.
5. Click on the "Download the installer" link.
   
6. Double click on the Sophos installer.
   
7. When the "Security Warning" window pops up click "Run".
   
8. The Sophos installer will pop up. Click "Install".
   
9. When the installation wizard pops up click "Next".
10. Accept the terms and conditions, then click "Next".
11. Click "Next".
12. Enter the username and password that was supplied to you by CTS, then click "Next". Ensure that you enter this information correctly or you will be unable to update Sophos. If you need the username and password, contact CTS at ext. 3619.
    
13. To install the necessary files on your computer click "Next".
14. Sophos is now installed click "Finish" to exit the installer.
