How do I rename my computer in Vista

Go to the Control Panel

Make sure the Control Panel Home is selected and
click on ’System and Maintenance.’

Under Performance and Maintenance choose System.

On the System Panel, choose ’Change Settings’

Select the ’Computer Name’ tab


Then Select the ’Change’ button.
In the ’Computer Name:’ section rename your computer

In the ’Domain’ section type "juniata.edu"

Click ’OK’
In the username box enter "juniata\username" then type in your password. After you click OK, you will have to wait for a while for confirmation.

If the computer has been placed on the domain successfully, a box saying, "Welcome to the Juniata Domain" will appear. Click ok till just the desktop is on the screen.
Restart the computer.
Log on with your EagleNet username and password. Check and make sure that you are logging on to the juniata domain and not your computer! (to see this, click options on the log in box)
