Virtual Private Networking (VPN) with Mac OSX

Select jcwireless

• Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.

• Click on the Network panel.

• Click on the Show pop-up list and choose AirPort. Check the box next to Show AirPort status in menu bar.

• Click on the AirPort menu on the upper right side of the screen. Choose jcwireless. You are now connected to the wireless network, but you must connect via a Virtual Private Network to use the Internet or any network resources. Instructions continue on the next page.

Create the VPN Connection

• Click on the AirPort menu on the upper right side of the screen. Choose Open Internet Connect.

• Go to the File menu and choose New VPN Connection Window.

• IIn the server address field type “10.99.1.5” (On Campus) or "192.112.102.12" (Off Campus), the servers Internet Protocol address ( IP address ). Also supply your username and password, and then click Connect. When you have connected you can quit Internet Connect.

• When you are done with the VPN connection, open Internet Connect and click the Disconnect button.
