Science in Motion Office Assistant
Juniata College invites applicants for the Science in Motion Office Assistant. Qualified applicant will provide for all office support operations for science outreach services (including, Science In Motion, II-VI camp and any future science outreach activities). This will include:
* Serves as office receptionist, facilitating communications among the directors, staff, and students
* Processes all incoming mail including e-mail
* Maintains incoming shipment records.
* Oversees filing of monthly mileage reports
* Assists in the preparation of correspondence initiated by the directors, co-directors or mobile educators
* Prepares mass mailings
* Provides support to the outreach websites by working with webmaster to place new postings and answering/directing email generated from website users
* Generate quarterly service reports for subscription schools
* Keeps minutes of important meetings
* Makes all arrangement for meetings of internal and external groups associated with science outreach activities
* Arranges travel accommodations, reimbursement payments, and stipend payments for guests of the program
* Processes Act 48 paperwork for teachers
* Secures all necessary arrangements for building maintenance and services.
* Assist directors in preparing annual service / grant reports
* Performs related duties as assigned.
Supervision:
Provides supervision of student assistant.
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma. Advanced business school preferred.
* 2-3 years work experience in an office environment.
* Advanced computer skills including working experience with Microsoft Office Suite including mail merge and experience maintaining a web site.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
