Campus Ministry

Worship

Campus Ministry facilitates many opportunities for students to worship while at college.  On campus, there is a weekly Roman Catholic Mass and a number of special event worship services.  Students are active in planning the services and serving as worship leaders and musicians.

Catholic Mass

The Roman Catholic community at Juniata College gathers for the celebration of Mass Sunday evenings at 6:00 PM in the Tussey-Terrace Lounge.

Special Campus Worship Services

In addition, many JC students attend worship services and are actively involved in activities at one of the churches, temples or mosques in the area:

Religious Holidays

Religious Observance Policy/Memo from Provost to Faculty & Staff: The Juniata College calendar includes observance of Christian holidays at Good Friday and Christmas.  However, we must also be mindful of members of our community who observe the seasons of other organized religions.  Juniata values cultural diversity and endeavors to support it.  I therefore ask the faculty to extend consideration to students who may be absent from class to celebrate religious holidays.  Please advise your students to speak to you in advance if plans to observe a religious holiday will interfere with class attendance or participation.  If your own observance requires any absence, be sure to make arrangements for your responsibilities by conferring in advance with your department chair or supervisor.
