International Business
Department: Accounting, Business and Economics
Effective fall 2009: Any student with a business POE of any kind must take the following core courses. This requirement applies to all business POEs, including individualized ones. The core courses must appear in the POE. The courses are:
EB 131, Financial Accounting
EB 236, Managerial Accounting
EB 201, The Management Process
EB 211, Business Statistics or an approved substitute stats course
and one of the following:
EB 105, International Economic Issues
EB 222, Principles of Macroeconomics
EB 223, Principles of Microeconomics

Students are required to spend at least one semester abroad, but preferably the Junior Year Abroad.
Students are encouraged to take any of the "immersion" courses offered at our exchange partner institutions.

- Courses in this POE cover all the "I, S, and H" distribution requirements for graduation.
- Students should choose courses that support the international context for the "F" and "N" requirements.
- Students must meet oral proficiency at the ACTFL (American Council on Teaching of Foreign Languages) level of "Intermediate High.."
- Students may study abroad in an English-speaking country, as long as they satisfy the foreign language requirements of coursework and ACTFL proficiency.
