Where to Stay

Oct. 5-7 events include not just NEES at Juniata but also football at Penn State: hotel rooms are in short supply! Juniata’s conference and events office was able to save a block of rooms at a local motel (Motel 22) and cabins at the Raystown Resort, however these will only be held until SEPT. 1!  Contact Motel 22 at 814-542-2571.

We have reserved cabins at the Raystown Resort. More information can be found at: http://www.raystownresort.com/accommodations.htm The resort is located closer to the Raystown Field Station than Motel 22. Please contact the Resort directly for reservations (814-658-3500). Cabins are between $101 and $131 per night and have a maximum occupancy of 6. Price is based on double occupancy, and there is an additional $10.90 fee per adult per day.

See http://www.raystown.org/placestostay.asp?search=hotel_motel for contact details for Motel 22 and other possibilities.  Feel free to try any of the places listed on the Raystown Country link – we’ll help with transport arrangements between any of the listed accommodations and the meeting site.

The Rustic NEES 2007 has no shortage of tents, tent sites and shower facilities at the field station:  bring a sleeping bag and you are all set.  Bunkhouses are also available.  Grove Farm at the Raystown Field Station still has room for 8 more (if you are willing to share bunkrooms): email Paula Martin as soon as possible to save your Grove Farm bunk.

Aerial view of the Raystown Field Station. Lakeside Center, including Shuster Hall, is in the center of the image. Grove Farm is in the top left corner.
Consider camping in the level, grassy area by Grove Farm. Hot showers are available in Grove Farm, and have the opportunity to see turkey, deer, and other wildlife at this scenic site.
